In addition to adding your shipments via Terminal49's Dashboard or API, you can add shipments to your account by sending an email to [email protected]. The email must include an attachment (CSV or Excel) with a list of your shipments.
You can use this functionality to automate shipment tracking on Terminal49 by sending a periodic report generated by your software. Many software systems (ERP/TMS/homegrown) support the ability to send a daily reports via email.
Setting it up is easy:
Create a CSV or Excel file (formatted with the column headers in this CSV template) and enter your shipments
Draft a new email to [email protected] and attach the file
Make sure the sender is set up as a user on your account on Terminal49. You can do that in the Account Settings.
Send email!
Wait for confirmation email that your files have been processed (you should receive this within a few minutes)
What happens next?
Once we receive the email, Terminal49 will automatically parse the attachment, add these shipments to your account, and attempt to start tracking all the shipments and their containers. If there is an issue with the file, we will send you a follow-up email with a list of the issues.
Requirements:
Make sure the sender is setup as a user in your Account on Terminal49.
The first row of the spreadsheet must have the following headers (see table 1).

Support for custom spreadsheet column headers
We understand that you might not be able to format your spreadsheet with Terminal49's required column headers. You might have container-level rows or multiple reference numbers or tags that need to be collapsed into a single column. We can provide support for custom column headers to automatically parse the attachments you send us - please email [email protected] with your requirements and we can customize this workflow for your account.
