Below is the list of intermodal rail milestones & attribute currently available in Terminal49 and their definitions:

Intermodal Rail Milestones:

  • Rail Loaded - container is fully loaded onto a railcar for transportation.

  • Rail Departed - departure of a loaded railcar from the port of discharge.

  • Rail Arrived - the arrival of a railcar at specific location within the rail network. It can happen in multiple locations before arriving at the final destination. 

  • Rail Unloaded - container has been unloaded from a railcar upon its arrival at the destination.

  • Estimated Arrival at Final Destination - estimated l time of arrival for the container at the destination rail terminal.

  • Arrived At Destination - container has reached its final destination (actual time of arrival), where it can be picked up for delivery.

  • LFD (Last Free Day) - refers to the final day by which a container or cargo must be picked up or returned to the port or container terminal without incurring additional charges. Usually get 4-5 free days at the terminal.

  • Not Available - container has not been cleared of holds and not available for pick up yet.

  • Available - container has been cleared of holds and available for pick up.

  • Full Out Inland Facility - a full container leaves the inland destination terminal and heads to the warehouse.

  • Empty Returned - occurs after the shipper has received the goods and returned an empty container to the terminal


Intermodal Rail Transport Attribute 

  • Inland Destination & Pickup Facility - refers to the final delivery point for a container after it has been transported by rail from the port of discharge. This includes inland destination's UN/LOCODE/Country Code, city, timezone, terminal firms code & terminal name.

  • POD Rail Carrier - refers to the rail carrier that picked up the container in the port of discharge. Note: The rail carrier that picked up the containers in the port of discharge might be different from the rail carrier that delivers them to the inland destination.

  • Destination Rail Carrier - refers to the rail carrier that delivers the container to the inland destination.
