Why A Container's Milestone Is Missing?

Last updated: March 25, 2026

There are a few possible reasons why a container's milestone may be missing. Follow the steps below to diagnose the issue:

  1. Check if the milestone was provided by the data source.
An event may have already occurred, but if the data source did not provide the milestone, it will not be available on Terminal49.

  2. Check if the data just needs to refresh.
It's possible that you've checked the shipment's data in between the refresh time of the carrier/terminal/rail. The updated data will likely appear on the next refresh of the shipment's data. Check this article for more information on how to check when your data was last refreshed.

  3. Check if the milestone in Terminal49.
If a milestone is marked with a (-) in our data coverage matrices, it indicates that the data is not supported in Terminal49, and therefore, it will not be for your shipment.

If you've checked all of these and the container's milestone is still missing, the fastest way to get assistance is through our in-app chat. You can also reach us at support@terminal49.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a missing milestone appear after the next data refresh?

Yes, it's possible. If you checked the shipment's data between refresh cycles, the milestone may simply not have been updated yet. The data will likely appear on the next refresh. See this article to check when your data was last refreshed.

How do I know if a milestone is not supported for my carrier or terminal?

Check our data coverage matrices. If the milestone is marked with a (-), it means the data source does not support that milestone and it will not appear on Terminal49.
