Is the rail pickup number available along with the last free day?
The last free day for inland destinations on rail is available. However, the rail pickup number is only available to the notification party, such as the shipping line.
Do you need to use the API to upload container information?
You can use the API to upload reference numbers, tags, and customer details when creating tracking requests. Alternatively, you can also upload containers directly from the dashboard by entering the booking number, which will identify the shipping line automatically. You can also upload containers via CSV.
Are you directly integrated with ports or terminals for tracking information?
Yes, we're directly integrated with all U.S., UK, Mexican and Canadian terminals We're constantly working to expand this network.
How do you group containers into shipments?
The best approach is to track by bill of lading or booking number. Entering a bill of lading number will pull in all associated containers automatically.
Can you view the information for a specific tag if a shipment has multiple tags?
Yes, you can filter and view shipments by any specific tag that you’ve added to the container.
Do you provide information for ports in countries like China?
We provide core milestones like availability and last free day globally. For specific terminals in Canada, UK, the U.S., and Mexico, we have deeper integrations and are expanding this coverage.
Do you track containers moving by barge, similar to how you track rail?
Yes, if the carrier provides milestones for barge movements, this information will be available through Terminal49.
Can you see milestones associated with customs?
Yes, we provide customs hold information for terminals we are integrated with, helping you resolve holds ahead of time and avoid delays or additional costs.
For the tracking API, do we need to query periodically, or is updated information pushed to us?
You can query periodically, but we recommend setting it up so that data is pushed to your system as it gets updated in real-time.
